Greetings Ruritans:
The year is more than half over and I just wanted to thank everyone for all their hard work and contributions to the Ruritan Organization.
In the past six months we have successfully added seven (7) new Ruritan Forever members plus started two (2) more with funds being set aside by clubs and individuals. Funding is in progress for the four remaining Ruritan Forever recipients.
The Founders’ Day event was very successful with some saying “it was the best ever”.
Many clubs have given out scholarships and other clubs have added new members to their rosters.
There have been many successful fundraisers including the Surry Ruritan Club having a very well attended auction with many buyers, the best year that they have had so far.
These are just a few of our accomplishments. THANK YOU for all of your efforts in helping to be a very successful 2006.
So the questions that I am sure everyone is asking “what about the rest of the year? What is left to do?” Well there is plenty to do in the remainder of this year.
1. To complete our Summer Zone meetings with elected Zone and Lt. Zone Governors.
2. Taking orders for the Ads for the year book so that it can be a great year by getting the most ads for the always beautifully done Year Book.
3. Challenging each club to add a new member to their membership role. To increase the monthly attendance by each member making a special effort to attend their regular meetings.
4. To successfully complete the Ruritan Forever Program via each club contributing towards this program possibly using their 50/50 drawings.
5. For each club to complete their reports and get them submitted on time.
6. Please plan for each club to be represented at the District Convention on December 2, 2006. Awards will be given and need to be received by a club representative.
